Q.
Who can buy and own property in Dubai?
A. Any investor, overseas or resident, can purchase
property including condo hotels in Dubai.
Q. I am a Jewish man. Will they let me buy a unit in
Dubai?
A. Yes, anyone can buy properties in Dubai regardless
of religion and origin. There are actually many U.K.
and U.S. Jewish people living and working in Dubai.
However, the problem is visiting the UAE (as with most
countries in the Middle East). People holding Israeli
passports are refused entry. People holding passports
that may have within them Israeli entry stamps are usually
not a problem in the Middle East except in ultra-conservative
Saudi Arabia.
It is worth mentioning that to purchase a Dubai condo
hotel, you do need to submit a copy of your passport.
We have seen Israeli passport holders denied. However,
this problem was usually worked around by purchasing
the property in a friend's or relative's name and using
their non-Israeli passport or in a company name.
